Post-Conference Recap and Gratitude

On behalf of the organizing community, we would like to express our gratitude to everyone who contributed and participated in the 2021 Symposia on VLSI Technology and Circuits. More than 1300 participants joined the Symposia, and we believe everyone can learn and discuss state-of-the-art semiconductor science and technology with the Symposia theme of “VLSI Systems for Lifestyle Transformation” through our online platform.

All the contents of on-demand technical presentations and recorded live programs are available until August 31st, 2021. For example, the live discussion of the joint panel, “The New Normal… How will it Change Work, Life and Education?” is unique to discuss how this pandemic changes our minds and behaviors, and changes our lives, work, and education. A variety of leading experts from Zen Buddhism, wellbeing science, computer-human interfaces to media art discussed and deepened the meaning of this irreversible change as well as the changing role of technologies. In the live circuit panel, “New Generation Chip Makers vs. the Incumbents ,” the critical ecosystem change of the semiconductor industries was discussed. Considering system companies like GAFA, AI startups and Tesla embraced in-house LSI development, how silicon innovation as well as supply change will change. The live forum discussed how the state-of-the-art sensors work together with intelligent AI algorithms such as transfer learning and federated learning with the environment of secure 5G/6G high- speed wireless networks. Especially, an intimate discussion has been presented about the smart AI-based manufacturing of semiconductor fabs.
