The deadline for online registration is June 30 (23:59 JST).

The symposium theme is “VLSI Systems for Lifestyle Transformation”. Even when Covid-19 becomes a distant memory, our society may face a drastic lifestyle transformation. People may come to work in more remote manner and are less likely to physically move for both personal and business issues. At the 2021 Symposium, considering these lifestyle transformations, we will discuss how state-of-the-art VLSI can contribute to such lifestyle and heath transformations. In this newsletter, the program for the first half of next week is introduced.

Demo session (June 14-16)

  • The popular demonstration session is an on-demand pre-recorded video session. The 17 selected demonstration videos are posted online on the conference virtual platform, and attendees can watch them anytime, anywhere, and post comments.

  • Attendees can also talk with authors in 3days Live Demo Interactive held concurrently with Social Communication on a virtual demonstration site that mimics a temple in Kyoto by Gathertown. Don't miss it and enjoy Kyoto in a nostalgic retro game world.
  • The Best Demo Award will be decided by your vote! Please don't forget to poll. The deadline for voting is 14:00, June 15th(Tue) JST.

Panel (June 17-18)

  • The Technology Panel Session, moderated by Prof. Takayuki Ohba, Tokyo Institute of Technology, addresses the question: "3D/Heterogeneous integration: Are we running towards a Thermal Crisis?"
  • The Circuits panel session, moderated by Prof. Naveen Verma, Princeton University, "New Generation Chip Makers vs. the Incumbents."
  • The joint panel session, "Work, Life, and Education for New Normal Society," moderated by Dr. Kazuo Yano, Hitachi. This pandemic changes our minds and behaviors and changes our lives, work, and education. In this panel, a variety of leading experts from Zen Buddhism, wellbeing science, computer-human interfaces, to media art will join to deepen the meaning of this irreversible change and discuss the changing role of technology.
